Ae dil hai mushkil is an Indian romantic film written and directed by Karan Johar and is slated to be released in Diwali week on 28 th October, 2016. The story revolves around  three main leads Ranbir Kapoor as a Hindu boy Ayan and Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as Alizeh and Saba taliyar Khan respectively. Karan Johar has said in an interview that the film is not a conventional love story or love triangle and that the film dwells on the heartbreaks, relationships and how love completes you, defines you and yet  leaves you wanting for more. Karan johar has written the film’s screenplay while he was in London in 30 days. And immediately after he came to India, he cast the respective actors. The plotline is supposed to be a budding romance between a Hindu boy ayan, who loves to sing and a Muslim girl alizeh,who is recovering from a recent breakup.

The film has a quote “ pyaar junoon hai aur dosti sukoon hai” which supports the fact that the film will deal with the complexities of love and friendship.The trailers reveal that Ayan and Alizeh are best friends who get in relationship with other people ( Aishwarya and Fawad respectively ) and how their love story plays out. Pakistani actor Fawad khan is playing an important role as a DJ which is according to him is “not exactly a cameo but it becomes a backbone for a certain conflict of a character in the movie”. Actress Lisa Haydon is also supposed to have a small yet interesting role in the film. Shahrukh khan has also shot few scenes reportedly. Since the release of trailers, everyone is in love with the sizzling chemistry between Ranbir kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan but how their relationship plays out hasn’t yet been clear.The soundtrack of the film is composed by Pritam and written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. On 30 august the audio of the title track was released digitally. So far three songs of ae dil hai mushkil has been released:

• Ae dil hai mushkil: This is the title track sung by Arijit Singh and is emotionally charged but soothing to the heart. The musical arrangement works perfectly and this song will get you hooked.
• Bulleya: This was the second music number of as dilhaimushkil. It was released on September 16. It is a Sufi track sung by Amit Mishra and Shilparao. The music is liberating and is the backdrop of Ranbir and Aishwarya’s romance between the extremes of love and lust and displays it beautifully.
• Channa merey: This is the latest track from Ae dil hai mushkil sound track released on 29 th September. This is the favourite track of Karan Johar and Ranbir Kapoor from the movie. In the visuals, ranbir turns a wedding singer for his bestie bride Anushka Sharma and ends up with tears in his own eyes and making others emotional too.This is the ultimate wedding heartbreak song that will remain in the playlist for long.

Ae dilhaimushkil, with its perfectly cast characters, good performances, breathtaking sceneries (shot in London, Austria, Paris and Rajasthan), a  roller-coaster of emotions and an addictive soundtrack promises to be a wonderful experience. Let’s hope it remains that this Diwali.
